February Birchbox Rent the Runway

"It's all in the details"
I completely agree!
This month when sample choice came around and I saw this box I waited by my email impatiently! lol So many appealing products crammed into a beautifully decorated box! So let jump into this!

First off is the Fekkai Bowlout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo. I. Love. This. Stuff. I might get hated on for this but I think I like this better then the Amika! I took this on my little weekend get away and it was AWESOME! I love the smell of it and it leaves my hair refreshed and with volume! So glad I got to try this product! I will be buying the full size once this runs out!

theBalm in Read My Lips
I have a confession to make. I have never tried any products from theBalm. So when I saw this in the box I knew I had to have it! I'm not usually a fan of lip gloss but this is so creamy and the color is gorgeous! This was also another item that came with me on my little getaway. It was perfect to throw in my wristlet and go. The color went well with all the looks I created. I have received a few complements on the color! Two thumbs up!

Sumita Color contrast eyeliner in the color Raina. At first I wasn't so sure about this because I wasn't sure how a dark blue would look. But I was surprisingly pleased! This a a very pigmented and smooth liner! I would be interested in trying it in a different shade. This shade is beautiful, just not an every day type color for me. But I do still really like the formula and the color!

Derma e Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Scrub
This was another item that sold me on the box! I was actually thinking of purchasing it from ulta anyway, so seeing it offered in the box was a very nice surprise! I have been a fan of Derma e for a while now and this does not disappoint! I use this maybe twice a week and I feel it does help my skin look healthier. I will defiantly be purchasing the full size when this runs out!

Not Soap Radio
The Stuff that Cupid dips his arrows in! This also came with me. It's smells so delightful! I loved the last sample I received from this brand! Thinking I just need to order the variety box of these because I don't think they make one that doesn't smell amazing!

Overall I think birchbox won the battle of the subcription boxes this month! I love all my subscription but birchbox knocked it out of the park this month! Double Hi5's Birchbox!

Want your own Birchbox subscription? It's $10 a month and you get 5 (sometimes more) beauty samples a month. What I think sets Birchbox apart from other subscription services is their point system. You can rack up 60+ points each month and for every 100 you get, you get $10 to spend on anything on their website and they offer A LOT of stuff! On top of their epic point system they also offer sample choice, where you get to choice a sample (from the options they offer) or a curated box from a guest editor.

February Ipsy Love

Ipsy Love
February 2015 Ipsy Glambag!

I will start with the product I was most pleased to be receiving this month! The Modelco Blush Cheek Powder. I received this in the color Peach Bellini. This is a peachy pink color which I think will be lovely this spring and summer! I have been wanting to try Modelco blush for sometime now and was very excited to see ipsy was sending these out to everyone this month! This blush is so pigmented I actually have to use it very light handed. After trying this I'm interested in the other colors Modelco has to offer! Two thumbs up to this item!

Next is the Luxie Large Angled Face Brush. This brush is so soft, cute and cruelty free! This and the blush were the items I was hoping for in  my bag this month and for once I actually got what I wanted! So yay to that! Good job ipsy! This makes a nice addition to my brush collection and we all know a girl can never have enough makeup brushes!

The Cargo Cosmetics Mini Lip Gloss. Although I thought I was going to love this, I'm actually not so impressed with it. It's very sheer and not pigmented at all. I'm not a huge fan of lip glosses. I have a ton and hardly ever use them. This will probably sit in my collection or go to a friend.

Joya Composition No. 1  Parfum oil. This was a two thumbs down for me. Although I think the little sample is very cute looking and more perfume brands should do packaging like this, I do not like the smell at all. I am very picky about the scents I wear, so I'm a tough critic when it comes to perfumes. My 4 year old thinks it smells delightful, so when she wants to "get pretty" she can use this. LOL

Last but not least is Rob Scheppy for 'Tini Beauty eye shadow in the color Pearl Fizz. I did not think I would, but I actually really like this eyeshadow! The shimmer in it is beautiful and there is no fall out! I love this for a highlight shade!

With the exception of the perfume and the lip gloss I think this bag was a win! Defiantly worth the $10!

Want to try out ipsy? It's $10 a month and you get 4 to 5 sample size or deluxe sample size products a month and every now and then you get a full size product.

Kisses From Boxycharm

Kisses From Boxycharm was the theme of this months February box. This would be my 5th box from Boxycharm and they have yet to fail me. So let get into the goodies that found their way to my door step this month!

First in this box of goodies is a Modern Minerals Duo Fiber Mini Round Brush. This brush is both soft and dense. I tried this out for the first time today and was quite pleased. I think it's best for applying and blending in the crease and inner corners on my eyes. It will make a great addition to my collection. This brush retails for $15!

Next is the Jing Ai Shine Lip Jewel. I love the texture of this, It's very creamy and the color is EXTREMELY pigmented. This will be a great spring and summer color! This retails for $22. Defiantly a high end lip product!

As a nail polish junkie, I was very excited to get this next one. The ncLA Nail Lacquer in Heart Attack. The name is very fitting, as it's a TON of tiny pink and red hearts. Glitter polish isn't always my favorite because with a chunky glitter like this I usually have to break out the dotting tool to place the pieces of glitter correctly. But this will look very cute on an accent nail. The formula is very nice also. This retails for $16!

The Mullein & Sparrow Mini Facial Mask was one of the main items I was excited to be receiving! I have never tried a dry clay mask before. I used this last night and was extremely impressed! I noticed an immediate difference in my skin after washing it off.  My skin looked cleaner, felt tighter and had a sort of a glow to it. I do recommend using a good moisturizer afterward, because even after moisturizing my face felt tight, not uncomfortably but defiantly noticeable. Retail value for this item is $15.

Mistura Beauty Solutions C-2-P Complexion Corrector. I'm always in the market for a good corrector/concealer. I'd love to give a good review of this product but it came broken with the product jammed into the lid. Apparently this has happened to quite a few people. After re-closing it and slamming on the table a couple times I was able to get the product out of the lid. I do like the texture. It goes on creamy and dries to a powder almost immediately. I don't feel it has amazing staying power and I think you would need a touch up a few times through out the day. This is supposed to be one color for all skin tones. I'd like to see how that works for someone with a darker or even really light complexion. Yes, you  would use it under your foundation, but then I would think you need a more full coverage foundation. Anyone with darker or lighter complexion use this? let me know what you thought in the comments below. I don't feel this is worth the retail value of $36.99, since it did come broken and the packaging seems cheap. You can see in the picture the logo sticker is peeling off and when I opened it, the product was EVERYWHERE. You would think if they are selling their product for $36.99 (the cost of a high end concealer), they would put more effort into the presentation of it. I was not impressed with the brush I was sent from this brand a couple boxes ago and I'm not impressed with this complexion correction stick. I hope Boxycharm doesn't send anymore from this brand in the future.

Over all this box from Boxycharm wasn't my favorite. Was it worth my $21? With the total worth of this box being 104.99! defiantly! My favorite Items would be the facial mask and the lip jewel!

Want to try out Boxycharm? It's $21 a month beauty subscription and you always get your money's worth and then some! They almost always send all full size items. I have only recieved 2 deluxe size item but they still retailed at $15.

Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette

Tarte

Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette

For anyone who doesn't know already, this is a complete matte palette, which is the reason it caught my eye in the first place. I will start with saying I LOVE this palette. The colors in it are soft and beautiful. They're creamy, pigmented and great for every day looks. They glide on nicely and last all day. If you haven't already bought this and are debating if it's worth it, yes! yes it is!

Top row(left to right):  Free Spirit, Force of Nature, Dreamer and Multi-tasker
Second row: Caregiver, Natural Beauty, Best friend, and Bombshell
Bottom Row: Super Mom, Wanderer, Power Player, and Fashionista

I feel the colors in this palette are great for any age and any skin tone. The names of the shadows are super cute and I like how they set it up so each row goes together every well. I used the middle row today, which are kind of dusty rose and purple colors. Since Valentines day is just around the corner, I think that row would also be great for creating a Valentines look. I did line my eyes using the darkest color in this palette, Fashionista. Whenever creating a softer look I feel using a dark shadow to line turns out better and less harsh on my eyes.

Overall, I think this is an amazing palette and would recommend it to anyone that loves matte eye shadows. If you are a shimmer, glittery person that likes intense bright colors, than this isn't for you. But, for us neutral lovers, this will be one of your favorite palettes to break open.

To create this look I used
Fashionista (to line my eyes)
Caregiver
Natural Beauty
Best Friend
Bombshell

On the rest of my face I used

Started with
Benefit Cosmetics Stay don't stray
and
Boi-ing Eye Bright Compact

On my lashes
Urban Decays Subversion Lash primer
and
Benefit Cosmetics They're Real Mascara

My brows
Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow

On my cheeks
Benefit Cosmetics Highbeam
 Lollitint
and
Coralista

On my lips

Benefit Cosmetics Lollitint
and
Lollibalm

Thanks for taking the time to come to my blog and read my ramblings!!
