Beautyblender Blendercleanser Solid

Blendercleanser Solid, is it worth the money?
My short answer, yes.

I've been using this sponge and brush cleanser for a few months now and I have to say, it's completely worth the money. I've cleaned my brushes and beautyblenders using at home mixtures before and I will admit, they work, but this cleans my brushes and sponges so much easier and faster. I had my doubts that spending $15.95 on this would be worth but I figured, WTH why not give it a chance. I'm glad I did. I use this about once a week with all my brushes and blenders, because, let be honest, putting on make up with a freshly cleaned brush or sponge, is a great feeling. I will say that I had been putting on the Tarte Maracuja Bronzing Serum, using my hands, before using the beautyblender Pure to apply my moisturizer and the bronzing serum transferred on to it. When I went to clean it using the Solid, it did not get the bronze stain off. But it's not too bad so I'm not worried about it. It's almost time to replace that beautyblender anyway. As you can see in the picture below, my blenders and my buffing brush were pretty dirty before cleaning them today. After though, they looked pretty much brand new with the exception of the bronzer serum stain on my beautyblender pure. I also like the scent of this cleanser. It's a very soft clean smell and makes the hairs on my brushes feel conditioned and super soft. I think even if you aren't a fan of the beautyblender itself, which I wouldn't understand because it's AMAZING,  the cleanser is fantastic even for your other brushes and/or sponges. My advice, if you haven't used this cleanser, take the plunge and try it out! You wont be disappointed!

Lip and Cheek Tints.... Whats your Opinion

So, currently I have four different lip and cheek tints with another on the way. But I thought I would talk about these three.
Benefits Benetint, Posietint and Elizabeth Mott's Tints and Sass. I want to start by saying, I know there are a lot of people out there that love Benetint, but it is my least favorite of all the tints I own. I love the smell but as you can see in the picture below, it is so watery unlike the other two tints. Posietint and Tint and Sass have a thicker gel like texture that makes it easier to work with.

I will say depending on the look I'm going for Posietint and Tint and Sass are my go to. They work well for my cheeks and lips. I love using the tints on my lips to give them a natural looking flush of color without having to cake on lip products. Most lipsticks, on me, tend to wear off after a short time and the tints last all day.
The Tint and Sass smells like cherries which I LOVE and I've gotten quiet a few compliments on the color. Posietint doesn't seem to have a smell but I love the color. I do have to build it up, as I have tan olive skin tone. But it gives me a nice soft pink glow, which is nice for a more natural look.  I know I will continue to use my Benetint until it's gone because I don't want to waste it but I wont be repurchasing it. I just can't get over the wateriness of it. I actually spilled some when using it the other day, what a waste. I'm just glad I didn't jump the gun and buy the full size. To be honest, I'm surprised I didn't like it. I love almost all Benefit products. Benetint was just a no go for me. I suggest, to anyone looking to try it,  find one of the benefit sample kit that have it in it before you commit to a full size of this. I don't know about you, but when purchasing high end makeup I like to know I'm getting my moneys worth.

If anyone had suggestions on other tints or has a different opinion, let me know in the comments below!

Stop Wasting Money on Expensive Makeup Remover! Do this instead........

Years ago, a friend had told me this little trick and I haven’t spent money on expensive makeup remover since! What was the nugget of wisdom shared with me? Vaseline! No more fighting to get that stubborn eyeliner or mascara off anymore. I have read so many comments saying the Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real liner is so hard to take off. Well, Vaseline will take it off and easily. Right before I wash my face, I just rub it over my eye until all the makeup is loose and then wipe it off with a wipe. (Yes I use baby wipes, Those things are good for everything!)
I’m sure there are many of you out there that already knew this but for those of you who didn't, stop wasting money on expensive make up removers. Just go get you a little thing of Vaseline and try that out. I have, literally, only had to buy maybe one new thing of Vaseline a year. Talk about cost efficient!
In the picture above I have both They’re Real Mascara and the eyeliner on. Took me less then a minute to get it off using Vaseline.

Starting a Beauty Blog in 2015

To whoever is reading this, welcome to my blog
.
A little background on me. I'm 31, will be 32 in about a week  <UGH> I am a stay at home mom to a 4 year old little girl. I wanted to start a beauty blog to talk about my opinions and reviews of various products. I'm always reading other peoples reviews before I buy something and after purchase and use, I always wish they would have included a missing keynote in their reviews. Most of my blogs will be about items I bought from Ulta, Sephora, Sally's Beauty Supply, and from my beauty subscriptions (Birchbox, Ipsy, and Boxycharm). I have been getting Ipsy for over a year now and still love getting that pink mailer ever month! Birchbox, I've been receiving for about six month. Their point system is EPIC! Last but defiantly not least, Boxycharm. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite subscription. I am about to receive my fourth box from them and they keep impressing me. I pay $21 a month and all the boxes, I've  gotten from them, have been worth over $100.

BoxyCharm $21 monthly
4-5 Full sized products (sometimes deluxe sample size/travel size)

Ipsy $10 Monthly

Excited to try new products this year and  read what other people think. Please share your opinions, questions or comments! Thanks for reading! Hopefully I will be able to continue this blog all through 2015!

Ipsy January Glam Bag 2015

Ipsy has been one of my favorite subscriptions for a while now. For anyone that doesn't know what Ipsy is, it's a monthly beauty subscription that cost $10 a month. Each month they send 4-5 beauty samples, deluxe samples and/or full sized products in a cute little makeup bag, right to your mailbox. I have to credit Ipsy for peaking my interest in trying new products I wouldn't normally go out of my way to try.

So let just jump in and talk about the products I received in this months bag.
Starting with the (MALIN+GOETZ) Mojito Lip Balm, This lip balm does not disappoint. It's hydrating, the scent/flavor isn't overpowering, and it leaves my lips super soft. I would defiantly throw this in my basket if I came across it in the store while shopping.  I'm pretty sure I've seen this in other peoples bags last year but still glad I got it in this bag. Plus I got this in full size and retails for $12! Thats more then what I paid for the whole bag!

Next on my list is the Hikari Cosmetics Mechanical Eye Liner. The shade they sent out is Storm. Which is a dark gray. I am kind of on fence about this product. I have received quite a few gray and silver eyeliners in the past year from ipsy. So to be honest, this will probably just sit in my liner collection and rarely see any use. It doesn't go on as smooth as some of the other liners I have. So overall I could have done without this liner. BUT I did get this in a full size which retails at $13!

Moving on, La Fresh Eco-Beauty Be Good. Good Day. Day Moisturizer. Been using this for a couple days now and overall I like it. Nothing I'd write home about and probably wouldn't buy it at the cost it is for the full size. The size of this item came in .5 oz. Full size is 1.7oz and retails for $40. Sample worth is somewhere around $13.

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Sheer Glo is one of the products I was very excited to try out! This didn't let me down! I use it as a highlight on my cheeks, Like I would my Benefit High Beam and it looks great! This is about a quarter of the full size, so this sample is worth about $7/$8. But a little goes a long way, I can see this lasting a while. This was one of the products I am pleased with receiving this month!

And lastly Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow in the shade Treasure. I have gotten Pacifica eye shadow in the past and though I do really like this brand, this shadow fell short for me. It's very close in color to MAC Woodwinked. Except MAC is much more pigmented and creamy. Pacifica feels chalky and isnt as pigmented. Now this shadow in full size comes in a palette with three shadows in it. The palette is $14. That makes this shadow worth just over $4.

So to sum this all up I paid $10 for $49/$50 in new products plus a super cute makeup bag! This is exactly why I will continue my Ipsy subscription for a long time to come! I completely recommend this subscription if you need some help stepping outside your normal routine . It can be a hit or miss but it's fun trying everything and finding new products you might like.

January 2015 Birchbox! Let’s Do This!

This month marked my 9th Birchbox! Heyyyyyyyy :)
To start, I love that they are doing different designs on each box. So last month when I got my sample choice email, I was pretty stoked. That was, until I saw the choices. I think they could have made the sample choice itself more of a variety. I feel it was all skincare and no make up or anything else. So I just went for the Tocca hand cream, since I knew I would love it. I usually see something in the guest editor boxes that I love but nothing in either of those boxes jumped out at me. All that aside, I need to give Birchbox a shout out for even doing sample choice! It's a seriously awesome perk and being a Birchbox Ace, I get my email a couple days early. I absolutely love being able to pick a sample I want to receive or a box of samples I want to try.
So lets get into the January box! First box of the year, so I had high hopes........

First item on the list, MyChelle Dermaceuticals Advanced Argan Oil. This is supposed to be hydrating, anti aging and smooth skin and hair. I really wanted to love this product but it just seems to make me oily. It weighs my hair down and makes my skin feel and look kind of greasy. Maybe I will try it a few more times, but over all this one is a no go for me.

It's a 10 Hair Miracle Leave-in Product Plus Keratine. This product works great on my hair. It's a treatment for hair damage and brittleness, which, is exactly what it did. This was a total WIN and at $18.99 for the full size, I think I will be purchasing this once my sample runs out.  Two thumbs up!

Another win is the Manna Kadar Lip Locked in shade All of You. I absolutely love they way this feels on my lips and the color is stunning! I hadn't tried any Manna Kadar products before, but between getting this and getting their Sheer Glo in my ipsy bag this month, I am really curious about their other products. Has anyone tried their other products? Have any recommendations?

Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream.  I honestly can't tell if this stuff works. I normally use It's Potent by Benefit and that has been awesome. But I think I need to use this for longer to see if it actually works. Birchbox does know whats up because I have dark circles under my eyes that I have dealt with forever, so, an under eye cream it ALWAYS welcome!

And last but defiantly not least, my sample choice. Tocca Creme da Mano in the scent Cleopatra.  I had receive Bianca Tocco hand cream in a previous BB and loved it!. This one that I got smells delicious! It's a fruity citrus scent and their hand creams always leave my hand so soft!

So to sum it up, I feel this box was a win and even better, I got 60 birchbox  points for reviewing and sharing my box! Who doesn't seriously love Birchbox points?!?! I mean don't they just blow ipsy away with their reward system or is it just me??

For anyone that doesn't already know about birchbox,
Birchbox is a sample subscription service that is $10 a month. You get beauty samples, perfume samples, tea, snacks, and other stuff, depending on your beauty profile. You can also just shop their site. They have a huge variety of items. As a subscriber, you can review your monthly box for points (10 point per review/100 points = $10)  and you can use your points towards any purchases you make in their shop. It's just a really great subscription service that provides great subscription perks.

Boxycharm January 2015! The Year of the Charm!

One of my favorite times of the month! Boxycharm day! YEAH! and this month did not disappoint!
For those of you who don't know what Boxycharm is, it's a monthly beauty subscription that cost $21 a month. You get 5 items a month. 4 or 5 are full sized and sometime you will receive a "Luxury" sized item
. Boxycharm sends everyone the same items but sometimes in different shades or what not. To be honest, if I had to pick one out of all my subscriptions, this would be the one! Yes, it costs about twice what my others cost but adding up the cost of the items I receive in my box,  is about 5x what I actually pay! Totally worth it! Plus I love being surprised every month.

So lets get into this thing!

First item on my list is the Beauty For Real True Color Lip Cream in the shade Always There.
I LOVE this shade! It is so pretty and I could totally see myself wearing this on a day to day basis. There is a little mirror on the side and the wand lights up, so cool! Although, to me, this looks like a gloss, it goes on like creamy lipstick. So far, from what I can tell, it also has great wearing power. This is full size and  at $22.00 a pop, this just paid for my whole box

Next on the list of awesomeness..... Beauty for Real The Perfect Pencil!
At first I was like WTH??? This only comes in one shade and it doesn't even tell you the shade. Allegedly this is "the only lip liner you will ever need" I don't know about all that, but I will say this liner it pretty awesome! Totally makes my lips look fuller and because of the neutral shade you could put any lip color over it and it would just help keep your lipstick or whatever from feathering.  This is also a full sized item ringing in
at $14.00! Yeah, this box is a steal!

 Mirabella Face Prime

This was one of the items I wasn't as excited to get. Not because it's not good but because I have a ridiculous amount of primers already. but this just means I won't have to buy any for a while......... a loooooonnnng while. LOL All that aside this is a great primer. It's silicon based so it leaves you with super soft and smooth skin and  at $29.00, hells yeah, I'll take it!

Next is the Pur-lisse Skin Sparkle Flash Tattoos. I was pretty meh about this.  Only because I'm 31 (almost 32 shhhhhh) and I rarely go anywhere that these would be something I'd put on for. But maybe my daughter will get some use out of them. At 4 years old, anything shiney catches her attention! LOL I defiantly wouldn't pay the $12 price tag on these, since they're not my thing and all but I'm sure someone loves them!

Lastly, The Tarte Maracuja Bronzing Serum

I was so happy to receive this! At $47.00 this would pay for two boxes! Crazy awesome right?! I haven't had a chance to really tell if this works or not but have read some great reviews of this stuff! I can say it makes my skin so soft and it smells so good!I only recently got turned on to Tarte but it hasn't let me down yet so I doubt this will let me down at all.  I personally think this alone would make the box worth buying

So to sum it all up, this box was AMAZING! The total worth of it is $124.00!!!! All for $21.00! I think I just fell in love ;P
When I signed up there was a wait list but from what I understand there isn't a wait list now! so if you want this exact box head over to https://www.boxycharm.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/16995/ and get your Boxy on!!!

Any suggestions or input, let me know in the comments! Want me to do a total review on the Bronzing Serum? Thanks for reading!
